Motorbiking Romany fundraises for men’s health charities

A motorbiking Romany has raised £1,400 for men’s health charities after being sponsored by friends and families to take part in the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride late last month.
Keith Dighton, one of the founders of the Gypsy Nomads Riders Club – a motorbike club for Gypsies and Travellers – raised the money in under 24 hours.
Keith’s fundraising was in honour of his father-in-law who had recently passed away.

The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride unites classic and vintage styled motorcycle riders from all over the world to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health. This year’s ride took place on Sunday 18th May in many different countries, with over a quarter of million riders taking part.

Many of the riders also dress in classic and vintage clothes for the occasion.
Speaking to the Travellers Times, Keith Dighton said: “Believe it or not, out of nearly 250,000 riders I was within the top one-hundred of fundraisers.”
