'A really good day out' - Hertfordshire Horse Fair 2026

Toney Hicklin brought several fine horses to the Hertfordshire Horse Fair - and he wasn’t the only one. Held on 26 July 2026, the fair saw a good turnout of quality animals, including an especially impressive Clydesdale that drew plenty of attention.

Despite its excellent location, the event deserved far more visitors. The two previous days had been blazing hot, with temperatures hitting 30°C. Yesterday began with a sharp 30‑minute downpour that settled the dust, and once the clouds cleared the sun returned in full force. By late morning the fair was busier, and more than a few horse deals were struck as the day went on.

It was, all told, a really good day out — lively, friendly, and full of proper horse‑fair atmosphere.
