If you’ve never had the opportunity to see Alan Langford’s work, this is a wonderful chance to experience it for yourself. Alan is a first‑class artist with a genuine appreciation for the beauty, character and traditions of Romany and Traveller life.

His paintings capture horses, horse fairs, drives, gatherings and the countryside, bringing to life scenes that mean so much to our communities. There is a feeling in his work — the strength and movement of the horses, the atmosphere of the fairs, the people, the open countryside and those familiar moments many of us recognise.

For many, Alan’s paintings bring back memories of family, horses, fairs, the road and a way of life passed down through generations. From original paintings to prints and his beautiful book Welgora, there is something to suit everyone’s budget. It’s a lovely opportunity to take home a piece of Alan’s work and the world he captures so beautifully.

If you get the chance, have a chat with the man himself. Alan is not only a hugely talented artist, but a great personality — full of genuine advice and encouragement for other artists. He is generous with his knowledge and truly cares about people’s creative journeys.

Alan isn’t the only artist worth discovering. The exhibition will feature plenty of other talented artists and wonderful pieces to explore, making it a great event to wander around, discover something new and perhaps find a piece that speaks to you.
