The Importance of Grannies
They teach us so much
the quiet wisdom of the years,
old wives’ tales whispered
over cups of tea,
recipes measured by hand,
remedies brewed from faith and wild herbs.
They show us strength,
resilience in every wrinkle,
endurance stitched into every story,
stamina in the way they rise
and carry on,
no matter what life brings.
They teach us how to make ends meet,
how to mend what’s broken,
how to turn little into enough.
They love us, fiercely, softly,
holding us when the world feels cruel,
scolding us when we stray,
challenging us
to make good choices,
to walk proud,
to remember where we come from.
Because grannies
they are the roots beneath us,
the heart of the home,
the keepers of all that matters.
