June Bournemouth Horse Fair and Drive 2026 - photo story by LE Thang
I want to give a huge thank you to Steve and his family, who worked so hard behind the scenes to make sure everything ran smoothly
Some weekends just stay with you forever, and this was definitely one of them.
Bournemouth Horse Fair was every bit as lively and beautiful as I hoped it would be, full of stunning horses, smiling faces, and that wonderful feeling of community that makes these gatherings so special.
One of the things I loved most was watching the children running around freely, making their own little adventures, laughing together, and enjoying the simple joys of the day. It was such a lovely reminder of how good it feels to step away from screens for a while and just be fully present, surrounded by nature, tradition, and genuinely good people.
I want to give a huge thank you to Steve and his family, who worked so hard behind the scenes to make sure everything ran smoothly. Their kindness, dedication, and tireless effort really shone through, and I’m so grateful for everything they did to help make the weekend such a special one for everyone there.
One of my favourite moments was being treated to the most amazing Gypsy curry to finish the day, then waking up at 5am the next morning, stepping outside into the cool air, and watching the sun slowly rise over the horses. Those quiet early hours were so peaceful and beautiful. It was one of those moments that made me pause, take it all in, and feel incredibly lucky to be there.
The sunshine stayed with us all weekend, and there was such a buzz in the air as everyone looked forward to the drive down the river Wimborne. Traditions like these are what bring people together and keep these special gatherings alive, and I feel so lucky to have been part of it.
It was also wonderful to catch up with so many familiar faces and meet new families along the way. Thank you to Joe, his family, and friends for letting me tag along on their drive down the river. What a beautiful route that was, made even better by the cool evening sun.
Weekends like this remind me that life is not about rushing from one thing to the next or getting lost in technology. It is about community, friendship, tradition, and making memories that last far longer than anything a screen can offer.
Until next time, Bournemouth Horse Fair, thank you for another weekend I will never forget.
