Lady and the Romany Rye - a labour of love for author Suzanah Buckland

First-time author Suzannah Buckland says that her book about her gorja mum and Romany dad’s marriage is a “heartfelt story of love, resilience, family, and understanding across cultures.”

Her first book - Lady and the Romany Rye - is now available in hardback and paperback from Amazon and other major retailers.

The Lady and the Romany Rye tells the true story of Suzanah Buckland’s mum and dad's life together over the years.

“They came from completely different backgrounds - my mum was a "posh", non-gypsy lady, while my was a traditional Romany gypsy man,” says Suzanah Buckland.

“My parents were certainly from two different worlds, through loyalty, love and respect they fit together perfectly in a lifelong loving marriage,” she adds.

“I feel that their loving marriage is a testimony that discrimination exist when there is lack of compassion, respect and understand. I am very proud to have written my memoir the lady (my Mum) and the Romany rye (my dad) the Gypsy gentleman!”
