Which party deserves my vote?
Seen loads of articles and Facebook posts about the election but still not quite sure what it’s all about and who to vote for?
As part of the Operation Traveller Vote campaign to encourage more Gypsies, Roma and Travellers to vote, the Traveller Movement has produced a handy guide of the key things the main parties have promised to do if they get elected.
The guide breaks down the parties’ promises into categories like education, small businesses and equality.
So whether you are most interested in business rates for your small business, how much tax they’re saying you’ll have to pay, what a party is promising to do on mental health or where the parties’ stand on equality and human rights you can easily check using the guide.
The election is on Thursday 8th June and if you have registered to vote, you’ll be able to cast your vote at a local polling station which will be open from 7am to 10pm. Not sure where your polling station is? Pop your postcode in this website and it’ll show you exactly where it is.
Voting in the election shows politicians that the views of Gypsies, Roma and Travellers matter too and that if they do get elected they have a duty to represent you too.
