Jim Helps Stourport Students

Good-looking Gypsy Jim Lowe - here he is with Mary and 10-year-old Ryan at Hartlebury Museum - was born in a Reading trailer at Bethnal Green to Charlie and Sarah Lowe.

Now living at the Smite site in Worcestershire, Jim helped youngsters from Stourport High School to find out just what life was like, living in the old fashioned trailers. Mrs Tanna Smith, (she was brought up in a bow-top in Worcestershire) has also shared her memories with the Stourport students.

Their recollections have breathed new life into the old Gypsy trailers on show at Hartlebury Museum in Worcestershire thanks to the Stourport students.

Julia Letts who ran the project The Gypsy Wagon Project says Jim, Tana and the Stourport students have brought the museum’s exhibits to life.
