Rooftop Housing Association are pleased to invite applications for pitches on our new Gypsy and Traveller site. The site is located on Gables Close, off Old Damson Lane, Solihull, approximately 3.4 miles North West of Solihull Town Centre and 7.5 miles East of Birmingham City Centre.
It is located on a main bus route along Damson Parkway and is close to the Coventry Road, M42 motorway (Junction 6) and Birmingham Airport. The site is within easy commuting distance of Birmingham and Solihull.
The land is adjacent to two other Gypsy and Traveller sites. One site is privately owned, and the other is managed by Solihull Community Housing. The Rooftop and Solihull Community Housing site are accessed via a shared driveway which exits onto Old Damson Lane.

The new site is planned for completion in late January / early February 2015 and will be Rooftop’s second Gypsy
and Traveller site, the first being the redevelopment of Houndsfield Lane, Wythall.
The new site will have 11 affordable rent pitches with space for two caravans and two cars per pitch. There is a
separate communal lorry park for 8 vehicles and a large well equipped children’s play area in the centre of the site.
The communal areas, lorry park and entrance are all covered by high quality CCTV. There is also a paddock area to
be able to safely graze livestock.
Each amenity building provides a living room / kitchen, utility room and a bathroom. The kitchen / living room
contains a spacious dayroom . The kitchen area has spaces for fridge freezer and oven. The utility room has
cupboards, washing machine connections and a vent for a tumble drier. The bathroom has a toilet, sink and a bath
with a shower over.
The boiler for water and heat is powered by LPG and the building has mains electricity and water.
One of the buildings is specially adapted to be wheelchair accessible and accessible for those with limited mobility.

Viewings can only be conducted once the site is handed over to Rooftop at the end of January / February. Please

Selection Criteria
Applicants must be Gypsies or Travellers, and aged 18 + .
Rent
Standard pitches will be £93.15 per week, and the DDA pitch will be £95.29 per week. The rent includes a service
charge for the upkeep of the communal areas and shared road to the site.
Tenure
Occupiers will be entitled to a secure agreement in accordance with the Mobile Homes Act 2013.
